Our History

The story of how we grew from a small savings group into a thriving cooperative society.

How It All Began

The Sangere Multi-purpose Cooperative Society (USSMPCS) was established by a group of visionary university staff members who recognized the need for a reliable and member-owned financial institution that would serve the unique needs of academic and non-academic staff.

Founded on the bedrock of cooperative principles — voluntary membership, democratic control, member economic participation, autonomy, education, cooperation, and concern for community — the society has steadily grown in membership and financial strength.

What started as a modest thrift and credit initiative among colleagues has evolved into a full-fledged multi-purpose cooperative providing savings mobilization, loan facilities, investments, and welfare services to hundreds of members and their families.

Today, USSMPCS stands as a testament to the power of collective effort — a model cooperative that continues to expand its services while maintaining the highest standards of financial governance and member trust.
